2026 Cohort for Hospital Workforce Leaders

Join fellow hospital leaders in a dynamic, hands-on cohort experience designed to help you build high-performing teams that deliver best-in-class patient care. This four-month learning and action program, launching in early 2026, is offered at no cost by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

About the Cohort

The Hospital Workforce Leaders Cohort is an opportunity for talent and culture leaders at health centers and hospital systems to join an action-oriented program focused on:

  • Attracting, retaining and promoting frontline and entry-level workers
  • Building high-performing teams
  • Delivering the best patient care

This program helps hospital workforce leaders implement effective strategies that build stronger teams and improve care outcomes.

What You’ll Tackle

Leaders will receive support to address key workforce challenges, including:

  • Workforce shortages: Healthcare roles are increasingly difficult to fill, particularly in rural areas — creating heavier workloads and lower job quality for existing staff.
  • Employee burnout: Dissatisfaction and burnout drive talented staff out of the healthcare industry, leading to costly turnover and added strain on remaining team members.
  • Impacted patient care: Chronic understaffing and turnover can harm patient care, causing longer wait times, rushed visits and a higher risk of errors.
